Totally viable pizza, pasta, and sauteed veggie options in Boca & Delray. Eat in for the bustling pizzeria/restauranty atmosphere, or call in to pick up an order. (delivery can take forever). Soup is good, pasta w/vodka sauce is good. And don't neglect to pick up an appetizer of broccoli rabe with sausage. Makes a great healthy split with any pizza or pasta.

Been eating here regular,y for nine years and never disappointed. A neighborhood gem that serves good food at fair prices with good service. What more can you ask? Updated 9/1/14. All is still true.

After hearing about this place from friends for years finally tried it. The food was delicious and service was excellent. They have awesome garlic knots which are served complementary to begin the meal. Hubby ordered the spicy pizza which was so good, I stole most of it! It had pepperoni, buffalo sauce, peppers and grilled chicken. Can't wait to go back and try dessert.

Decent pasta and above average pizza, but not when delivered. I am 6 minutes away and delivery always takes about an hour, and the pizza is always cold. Really cold. I tried explaining this to them on more than one occasion but food always comes the same, as if I had said nothing.

3.5 stars for the food, 4 stars for the service, 1 star for the price. The food is always consistently good. The pizza is my favorite pizza in this area. I went there last week with two other people and the bill was $63- without drinks or apps. The prices have gone up so much that it's almost prohibitive. I only go there now for the pizza special on mon and tues. Otherwise, out of my price league for what it is.

Mixed feelings about this one. They make quite a good pizza which can be had for the incredible price of $8 on Mondays and Tuesdays. On the other hand, their lunch specials are simply terrible. Small portions of very low quality Italian specialties sums it up. Slice of pizza, salad and half a sandwich is no bargain when the small salad is almost all lettuce and the sandwich is mostly all bread. Atmosphere and service isn't bad. So, thumbs up for the pizza special, but avoid everything else.

Chicken cacciatore is our fav at this location. Small dining area but sufficient and cozy booths and tables for a good 15 to 20 tables. Near DELRAY hospital.

The food is good but the service is the worst. I thought maybe it was a one time bad service during lunch so I came back for early bird dinner and the service was even worse. It's crazy.

Complete sh#t show! I called for delivery at about 5:40pm on a rainy night to beat the dinner rush. I call to check on things at 7:15pm and they tell me the power has been out. I asked if they were going to call me or let me know that we weren't getting dinner. The manager said "uh"! Yeah I said thank you never again!!! So I called Fratelli's and they were super awesome and duplicated my sals order and delivered it in 30 minutes! My crazy hungry kids were in a better mood!! Order from Fratelli's!! Stellar food and amazing customer service!

Something has gone terribly wrong at this place! I don't know if they have new management or if they just don't care about customer service or food quality anymore. We discovered Sal's two years ago and we loved it so much we ordered once a week. Then a couple months ago my husband and I went there for dinner and over an hour and ten minutes later we walked out because they "had no idea" how much longer our food was going to be. Not only did it take so long we left without eating but the waitress was incredibly rude about the whole thing and spoke to us with a very bad attitude. Tonight I ordered a take out large pizza , half New Yorker and half Pepperoni and extra cheese. I picked the pizza up exactly 20 minutes after the order was placed and it wasn't even remotely hot. Also apparently a half has been changed to 2 slices because that's all the New Yorker style we got. The other "half" only had one or two pepperoni on each slice. It was so bad that I ordered another pizza from somewhere else and threw this one away. I used to love this place but it has taken a steep nosedive and I will no longer be spending my money here. Do yourself a favor and order from somewhere else!!

After 7 years of perfection at Sal's, I picked up my pizza tonight and the sauce, dough and mozzarella tasted very different. Additionally, for the first time, they laid garlic pieces soaked in oil over the top of the pizza. I called them and told them that I had the same problem at their Sawgrass store last weekend. Their response was, "We changed the recipe." The difference in taste is so great, that I can only guess that Sal's has been sold to a new owner - and that the old wonderful "Sal's" taste is gone forever. Well, at least there's Fratelli's.

When someone tells you not to place your menu flyers at their front door, please respect that request. ESPECIALLY when it is very explicitly posted on the front door of their home. This request has been made clear to your management more than once. Does management listen?

Average food barely makes up for rude employees, slow service, and order mix-ups. Delivery takes forever. I've tried it enough times to realize my money will be better spent elsewhere.

Excellent Italian restaurant and very affordable prices. The manager came over and asked how we were doing, very friendly. The waitress was very nice too.

This is our new favorite lunch spot. Can't beat the prices and the service is always good. Really enjoy the lunch special--pizza, salad and a 1/2 sandwich. Pizza is awesome.

Horrible wait time for dine in service yet place was not that busy. Waitress tried to be pleasant but instead of trying to help she just kept making excuses. Willing to chalk it up to a fluke but them the food came out and it was substandard. Raw vegetables that were supposed to be steamed and fishy smelling fish (good fish shouldn't smell like fish at all). May try again for take out pizza but would never dine in again.

Been to the Delray Beach location of Sal's a handful of times, and each time we receive consistently good service and a good meal for a reasonable price. It's tough to find a reasonable price in South Florida at a restaurant that offers a great menu and appetizing food...but Sal's is it! They've got fantastic lunch specials -- For $6.99 I can get a salad, eggplant parm sandwich, and slice of pizza...and typically have a bit left over. Today I opted for something different -- a Caprese Sandwich. If you order this, ask for it on the Italian hoagie bread which kicks butt! My husband loves, loves, loves, their pizza for dinner and lunch. He gets the $4.99 lunch special -- 2 slices of cheese pizza and a soda. And when Monday/Tuesday rolls around, the hubby begs for more Sal's pizza. They offer specials on those two days. Get a large cheese pizza for $7.99. The BEST thing on their menu, in my opinion, is the garlic rolls! Even if you think you'll have too much food, you MUST order the garlic rolls. Those things are super yummy, chewy and topped with tons of garlic! Love that stuff! Yes, pizza is a must at our house, and while I try to balance with other foods, Sal's continually has a place at our table.

LOVE this place! The food is phenomenal and the pizza is awesome! Best pizza since New York! Staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, and you can't best the home-style Italian food, it tasted like it came straight from Italy! Definitely my favorite place.

One of the best deals on Pizza in the eastern area of Boca. They have an amazing lunch special with 2 slices and a drink, a slice and a soup, salad, or half sandwich, or a small entree and a drink, all reasonable priced. Their pizza is really quite good and if they add toppings, they make sure you get an ample amount. Service is also a high point here. I have been here for lunches and dinners and have always been taken care of well. Drinks are refilled in a timely manner and they recognize me when I walk in (could be that I am a pretty good tipper, but who knows!) There are a couple of reasons why they lose a star for me. One they can help, and one they cannot. The one they can help is the fact that they don't offer slices at dinnertime. I understand the economic reasons for this, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Dinner can get quite pricey, but the portions and the food quality are good. The issue that they cannot help is the age of the clientele. I am always concerned whether they have a defibrillator handy when I walk in there. I am 40, and I bring the average age down at least 20 years when I walk through the doors. IF I bring my kids with me, I don't think the three of us add up to the age of the youngest person in there. All that being said, when I am in the area and hankering for some good Italian food for dinner, this is where I am going.

Best pizza in the world and a very good and unique chicken Caesar salad. Quick dine in service, but there's usually a long wait for delivery. Hands down best pizza in Florida!

We ordered Fried Calamari for an app and a larger pizza for the main course. Although the waiter was very good, the kitchen staff got everything ready at once. How hard is to understand that if people order a appetizer, they want it first and not with the meal. It no wonder that places are still going out of business.

Pizza is good, but hard to take a south Florida restaurant seriously when they use "it is season" as an excuse to take two hours to deliver a pizza on a normal Tuesday night (already after accepting delivery time of an hour). Staff could not care less.

Pizza is good but the entrées don't compare to other restaurants. Placed a large order of food for take out and there was something wrong with everything. Main problem was that we asked for two medium rare steaks and both came out well done. Buyer beware: the menu makes the food sound much better than what it really is.

One of my favorite NY style pizza places in the Boca/Delray area. Busy at times, this place features thin crust at very reasonable prices. It is not boutique pizza, but the kind of slice you tend to fold over as you take a bite.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
